Uruguay – nicht Ungarn… ;)

Am vergangenen Sonntag saß ich im Schaukelstuhl und habe mich an die teils lustigen, aber auch eigentümlichen Kommentare erinnert, die mich nach der Entscheidung für ein Leben in Uruguay erreicht haben.

Als erste erfuhr es eine Freundin: „Was willst du in Ungarn?“

„Nein, nicht Ungarn. Uruguay.“

„Uruguay???“

Peu à peu hat es dann einer nach dem anderen mitbekommen. Die Kommentare schwankten zwischen: „Du willst im Slum leben?“ über „Wenn ich hier kein Haus hätte, würde ich mit dir kommen!“ bis „Glaub nicht, dass dort das Paradies ist…“.

Der Entschluss war gefasst und vieles musste organisiert werden. Meine Entscheidung war nicht mit einem 20kg Koffer und Urlaubsgarderobe zu erledigen. Brav und fast ehrfürchtig habe ich in Foren gelesen, Fragen gestellt und mehrfach mit der uruguayischen Botschaft telefoniert.

Damals war ich so naiv, dass ich alle „hilfsbereiten“ Informationen glaubte. Ich konnte mir nicht vorstellen, dass gerade in Foren zum Wohl der Geldvermehrung mehr gelogen wird, als in der Politik.

Last sunday I sit in the rocking chair and remembered about all the funny and specially comments, after arrived at the decision, to live in Uruguay.

At first I told this to a girlfriend: „What do you want in Hungary?“

„No, not Hungary. Uruguay.“

„Uruguay???“

One by one found out my plan. The comments ranged between: „You like to live in a slum?“ over „If I don’t have a house, I’ll come with you!“ since „Don’t believe, that Uruguay is the paradise…“.

The decision was made and many things had to be organized. It was not complete with a 20kg bag and holiday wardrobe. Well done and almost reverentially, I read in forums, asked and repeatedly telephoned with the Uruguayan Embassy.

At that time I was so naive that I believed all the "helpful" information. I could not imagine they are lying straight in forums for the benefit of the money supply more than in politics.
